During the month of September, despite the fluctuating trend in prices, there was a new general increase in the prices of base metals, especially for aluminum, which shows no sign of halting its bullish run that began in July.

In detail, after the record surge up to the peak of 2,949 dollars on 13th September, it continues its positive trend and records a monthly growth of 8% (2888 $ / ton).

Thanks to the rise of Chinese imports, the rise in aluminum prices is closely related to the marked decline in reserves, also supported by the new energy policies implemented in China. The process to obtain the metal, in fact, requires huge quantities of energy and the industries of some regions (such as Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang) have had to reduce its production.

Prices also rise for zinc, whose values stand at 3,093 dollars per ton with an increase of 3.7% compared to August.

Turning to copper, on the other hand, prices closed down 0.1% at 9,341 dollars a ton on the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Finally, there is also a slight decline for nickel: prices reach values of $ 18,910, down 0.1% compared to the previous month.
