Registrations on the rise for most of the automotive brands

In June, the number of car registrations in the European Union is growing again. In fact, they increased by 10.4% compared to the same month last year, albeit at a slower pace than in previous months. This is the picture that emerges from the data released by ACEA, the Association of European Automobile Manufacturers.

In fact, in Europe, the month of June saw 1,048,143 registrations. The demand in the EU for new cars grew by 25.2% compared to the first half of 2020, reaching, in total, almost 5.4 million units registered. Analyzing the performances of the main European countries compared to 2019, Italy is the country that is experiencing a slighter decline (-18.3%).

Stellantis – a group born from the merger between FCA and PSA – is growing in Europe, but at a slower rate than the market. The group closed the month of June with 258,657 car registrations, with an upward trend of 11.5% compared to the same period in 2020 (the market closed with an increase of over 13% in the same month).

If we look at the performances of the first six months of the year, Stellantis recorded an increase of 32.1% to 1.378.773 vehicles, with a market share that rose from 20.5% to 21.3%. Among the individual brands, the best performances were achieved by DS (+ 37%), Jeep (+ 33.8%) and Opel / Vauxhall (+ 26.7%). Among the major car manufacturers, in June the Volkswagen group recorded a rise of 22.5%, Renault a decrease of 17.9%, while the German Daimler lost about 11.3%.
