In 2017, Erga Progress architecture and engineering firm turned to Fratelli Mariani for the realization of the façade of Palm Retreat Dubai MGallery by Sofitel. The resort is located in the East Crescent of Palm Jumeirah, which consists of an archipelago in the archipelago, created with sand dredged from the depths of the Persian Gulf, and whose shape resembles a palm tree.
In this spectacular and exclusive setting, the resort stands out as the first holistic wellness centre in the Middle East. This means that inside it is possible to undertake an experiential path of complete, integrated, all-encompassing wellness, in which body, mind and spirit are involved at the same time.
In the design phase, it immediately emerges the need to identify a resistant but light material, in terms of aesthetic yield, capable of reflecting light and allowing the implementation of lighting even afterwards.
For this reason, ONDA 19 wire mesh in 316L stainless steel, 340SqM is the perfect solution for the harmonious integration with the rest of the structure, the surrounding environment and the holistic concept of the resort.
In particular, the wire mesh covers 19.50 m of façade and 10 m of canopy at the entrance of the structure. Because of its location, this element has both a functional and an aesthetic purpose, given its dynamic and undulating movement.
In addition to the architectural firm, the relevance of the project required the on-site support of Fratelli Mariani. Specifically, the Dubai office coordinated the construction site to install the wire mesh, ensuring the realization quickly and without any criticality.
