Non-ferrous metals: new price increase in May

During May, despite the fluctuating trend in prices, there was a new slight general rise in the prices of base metals.

In detail, copper continues its rise above $ 9868 a ton on the London Metal Exchange (LME), an increase of 7.4% compared to April.

Car registrations up in March, but still below pre-Covid levels

After the negative phase of the first two months of 2021, the European automotive market finally registered a turnaround in March.

According to the statistics of UNRAE, the National Union of Foreign Motor Vehicles, registrations in the European Union were 1,062,446 with a sharp rise of 87.3% compared to the corresponding month of last year, in full lockdown (567,253).

The month of April opens with a slight general rise of metal prices. In particular, the aluminum race shows no signs of stopping and is characterized by an increase of 6.5% compared to the previous month, reaching its highest levels in two years at 2,328 dollars a ton (the highest peak remains that of April 19 2018 with 2,597.5 $ / mt).

Car registrations in February: trend still negative
